The project entailed the renovation and substantial extension of an Arts and Crafts house in Cambridge.
The clients purchased a 3 bed semi-detached house in poor condition and tasked Mike Tuck Studio with renovating and extending the property into a 5 bedroom family home looking over the Grantchester Meadows.
The client's passion for cooking played an important part in the brief and led to the creation of a large kitchen and dining room which links to a playroom.
The constrained floor-to-ceiling heights of the 1950s house led to some novel structural solutions to increase the height in the large family space.
We worked closely with the Cambridge-based client to include them in every stage of the design process.
